Flower Show & Photography Competition

Free to the public this year, the third annual Mountains in Bloom Flower Show & Photography Competition will be held Friday, July 9, and Saturday, July 10, at the Highlands Civic Center. Times are Friday 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Shuttles will transport Flower Show attendees from two parking locations to the site of the show: Highlands School (south of Main Street at the corner of Fifth Street and Pierson Drive) and Community Bible Church on Cashiers Road (U.S. 64) three miles east of Highlands. There will be NO PARKING at the Highlands Civic Center due a lack of parking capacity. Click here for more information on parking.

This year’s theme is “Mountain Memories.” There are three divisions:

Horticulture Division
  • Garden Flowers
  • Container plants
  • Native specimens
Artistic Division
  • Flower arrangements
  • Floral design interpretations of Bascom artwork
  • Children’s flower arrangements
Photography Division

    Special this year, acclaimed bonsai collector Warren Hill (click here for biography) will be bringing his extensive collection to the Flower Show, where it will be on display. He will give informal talks during the show for visitors.
