Cathy and Bob Fisher Estate
Imagine yourself having cocktails and dinner at a beautiful English manor house surrounded by exquisite gardens that overlook the countryside and the wonderful sound of a bagpipe wafting through the air. You can experience this idyllic setting right here in Highlands at the Mountains in Bloom "England in Highlands" Benefactors Party on Sunday evening, July 11, at the fabulous home of Cathy and Bob Fisher.
The evening will begin with cocktails in the Fishers' formal English gardens overlooking dramatic mountain views. The gardens were designed by Rosemary Verey of England and contain antique English artifacts along with native plants. There will also be an opportunity to tour the Fisher home, which was designed by Keith Summerour of Atlanta and features the use of local stone, leaded glass windows, heavy timbers, a heavy slate roof and antique English slates surrounding the exteriors of several doors and windows. The home was completed in 2005.
Streamlined shuttled will transport Benefactors from Highlands School to the Fisher estate. During the cocktail hour, Dave Landis will play the bagpipes and lead the guests to the delicious seated dinner that will be provided by Jerry Dilts & Associates. Dinner music will be provided by a quartet led by Jim Gibson of Hickory Cove Music.
The menu for the evening will include:
- Assorted passed hors d'oeuvres
- A seated three course dinner to include: Assorted European Greens with Jumbo Lump Crab Cake
- Your choice of Highland Herbed Rack of Lamb or Baked Atlantic Salmon "En Papillote"
